It’s time for the 2014 Colorado Corn Maze round-up! Visiting a corn maze is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy beautiful Colorado during the fall!

What is a Corn Maze?

What exactly is a corn maze anyway? Corn mazes are giant puzzles that are created through rows of grown corn. Paths are cut out of the corn rows to create an intricate design that is simultaneously a challenging maze with dead-ends and tricky pathways. The goal is for visitors to challenge themselves to find their way through the winding paths and make their way through the maze in its entirety. Corn mazes are designed in a variety of sizes depending on each individual farm’s acreage. The difficulty level differs as well. Typically, a corn maze can take from 30 minutes to a couple of hours to complete. Sounds like some super autumn entertainment, right?!?

Tips for Visiting a Corn Maze

Here are some tips to make the most out of your corn maze visit this year:

*It is important to note that many corn mazes also have haunted and spooky versions for teenagers and adults. It is best to visit these corn mazes during the daytime if you are looking for kid-friendly fun. Corn mazes that offer a haunted version typically open at dusk.

*Many corn mazes do not accept credit cards so be sure to bring cash.

*Some corn mazes offer discount coupons through their websites or Facebook pages.

*Make sure to check individual websites for admission fees, extra activities that are offered, and more information on specific questions you may have.
